Appliance repair and installation advice
Find your model number, prepare for a repair visit and plan a built-in appliance installation with UKCDA's practical guides.
Prepare for the right next step.
Find your model, describe the fault and understand what a built-in fitting needs. These guides support an enquiry; they are not instructions to dismantle an appliance.
BEFORE YOUR VISIT
How to find your appliance model number
The name on the front is often a range, not the full model. A clear rating-plate reference helps us prepare for a repair.

Preparing for a built-in appliance installation
A replacement integrated appliance needs to fit both the space and the existing connections. These details help avoid surprises on installation day.

What to include in a repair request
A few useful details help the office understand the problem and arrange the next step.
Read the guide ↗Useful observations, without taking anything apart
The programme name, an exact display message and whether the appliance is integrated can help the office understand your request. Describe what happened during normal use rather than running a faulty appliance again. Leave covers, wiring, heavy appliances and water-filled components in place.
When to contact the team
If the model label is inaccessible, say so. You can still start an enquiry with the appliance, symptoms and full postcode. Mention leaking, burning smells, visible damage or tripping electrics and stop using the affected appliance. We will review the information and explain availability and applicable charges before arranging a visit.
For a replacement fitting, use the installation pages and include both model numbers if available. For an existing fault, choose the relevant repair category.

PREPARING YOUR REQUEST
Start with the appliance and the symptoms.
Give us the brand, full model and what you noticed during normal use. Include whether it is built in, stacked or difficult to access. Leave covers, fitted appliances and electrical connections in place.
We review the details, explain applicable charges and confirm availability before arranging a visit.
